>Jersey Mike's uses processed meat bricks
I knew something was wrong as soon as I saw them in the case. Everyone was telling me I had to try Jersey Mike's and how its so good. Then I saw the pig bricks and every sub came with fucking provolone and I became concerned. It wasn't bad, but it was definitely disappointing and definitely not worth the price.

The real kicker is how they fuck with the sizes. Instead of half/whole the 6"/footlong they do mini/regular/giant. A giant is a whole sub and it's fucking $16 for an Italian.

I feel like this is a problem with fast food in general now with all the inflation. Even if you cut back on eating out, if you spend $10+ on McDonalds or Wendys that shit better be perfect. I still remember when Hardee's had the Six Dollar Burger and they called it that because a six-dollar hamburger was considered a premium price even though they sold it for less.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=70k9r4FoECI

It used to be that fast food was just cheap junk and you knew every once in awhile you were gonna get a sloppy burger that made you feel disgusting. Now it's fucking infuriating.

Modern fast food prices are so ridiculous that the only way I can tolerate them is to make maximum use of app deals, reward points, stealing fountain drinks, websites that list anyone giving away a burger for some dumb event, etc. Fast food can still cost $4 if I waste some time putting together the cheapest possible meals.

If I do spend 10 or 15 dollars on lunch, I can do that an actual actual deli or diner. I can even get fast, ordered-ahead takeout from an actual deli or diner. I don't know why anyone pays full menu price for a combo meal of clown slop.

$10 hasn't been real money since 2010, bud. That has nothing to do with inflation. The problem with inflation is that $20 now isn't even real money.
None of that changes the fact that you're eating fast food, which has always been trash. It was never not trash. The only thing it ever was, was cheap and convenient. For as long as my father was alive, and he was born in 1950, it was always a meme to dog on how poorly made and low quality fast food was. They changed their fries sometime in the 00's and it's like it cursed them. Good Midwestern restaurants are hidden in the most obtuse and unthinkable places, like video game easter eggs. At a year-round ski slope, built into an Ace Hardware, any gas restaurant that's not a chain.

When the T Swirl Crepe near me shut down. These things were the most delicious confections I ever ate. The fact that they were only $10 for one was criminal, but I guess them being so cheap was also why they couldn't stay in business for over a year. I always tipped when I went there too.

There's something weird going on with that place. They never promote their food in advertisements. It's 100% about their charity work. It's like they're the virtue signal of fast food. Like those shitty candy bars that kids sell for their school.

Five Guys was more about the fries than the burger. They would give you a bag full of fresh-cut Idaho potatoes fried in peanut oil. The burgers themselves are bog-standard diner smash burgers. You could make it at home with generic store bought ingredients yourself if you don't mind stinking/greasing up your kitchen. Get a flat griddle surface for your outdoor setup with a deep fryer and you have no excuse to go there again considering how fucking expensive it is now. Double the price for a sub that's maybe 10% better on account of the bread being slightly crustier.

There's nothing like choking down a $15 gas-station sub while some orange bimbo with an 18" bouffant hairdo starts whining in this really resonant nasally voice about how her boyfriend didn't have the Camaro vacuumed enough during the last detailing, and then her sweaty twitchy tattooed boyfriend in the leopard-print stringer threatens to punch her in the face. This is probably the winner of the thread. Most over rated trash food that you could 100% make better on your own at home. Never got a burger from these places that wasn't under cooked by stoners. I'm convinced all the people who defend this shithole are millennials with single mothers that never actually "cooked" anything for them outside of using a microwave because their argument is always "you don't understand, it's supposed to be like home cooked food".

Fuck you cunt, my burgers aren't under cooked, my fries aren't soggy and I don't have peanut shells all over my kitchen floor. Hands down the most horrid burger place and their prices are inhumane.

>> No.18565431

All of the sandwich shops are too expensive. The only time I order Subway is when I get Subway coupons in the mail a few times throughout the year that have Buy one get one free deals and $5.99 footlong deals. Any other time I want a Sandwich I just make my own at home and if I want to get something to eat away from home I either go to a halfway decent restaurant (that's usually cheaper than the sandwich shops) or I get Taco Bell or KFC or something which yes, both of them are Goyslop but with the online apps in particular they're really cheap.
