What fast food restaurants or restaurant franchises should I check out? In Ireland we have KFC and McDonalds, Dominos, Subway, Burger king Starbucks etc

but we have no Wendy's, Arby's, Red Lobster, Taco Bell, Chick-Fil-a, Popeyes,

The ones you mentioned are all fine to try too

Also each region/state has something unique. The South, New York, Northern/Southern California, Texas., etc. all have something the locals all know about that doesn't exist in other states.

Where are you going?

As an American who visited Ireland twice, the food Irish pubs in America sell isn't even Irish nor is there any record of Irish people historically eating what they sell. The stew they sell is all wrong too.

almost all fast food is better outside america, you're in for some big disappointment. if you want a good burger your best option is to find a good local restaurant.

>Wendy's
good burgers, decent chicken, chili is worth trying at least once.
>Arby's
the most sloppa out of all fast food, but oddly satisfying. a wide variety of items on the menu makes it interesting.
>Red Lobster
awful. on the same level as applebee's, chili's, etc. basically all these sit-down chains are the same as whatever local diners exist in the area but worse. not worth visiting.
>Taco Bell
used to be amazing, but now fairly disappointing. usually whatever the 5 dollar box deal is the best choice. 50/50 chance you might like it but it won't be very impressive.
>Chick-Fil-a
it'll be normal for you, but for americans it is luxury to eat in a fast food restaurant that is clean and staffed by kind people. good and consistent food but it can be a bit overhyped. worth a visit.
>Popeyes
hit or miss, but very satisfying when it hits, definitely worth a visit. watch out for certain flavorful types of customers.

>Wendy's
No flavor, no theme, nothing good
>Arby's
Piles of poorly cooked "beef" with nacho cheese sauce
>Red Lobster
Suburban mom tries to cook seafood. Only uses butter and oil.
>Taco Bell
Mexican food, but you're in a dystopian sci-fi story. 75% chance you will shit yourself afterwards.
>Chick-fil-A
Praise Jesus this is good chicken
>Popeye's
Ey yo lemme get dem fish strips.

Jesus man don't waste your time and appetite eating from fast food chains. Have a hot dog in Chicago, and also seek out the truly vile herbal booze Malort. In Maine have seafood, with an emphasis on lobster and clams. In Louisiana just eat whatever, it's all good. Don't know what they eat in Wisconsin, maybe that's where you can try Chic Fil A. Also wherever you are you should try some Mexican food (Chicago or Louisiana would be best), I've been to Ireland and you people have no idea what you're doing with your tacos and such

>I am visiting Illinois, Wisconsin, Maine and Louisiana

The USA is a pretty big place. Some fast-food franchises are local to a specific region or even just a single US state. For instance, I'm from New Orleans (Louisiana). There are no Jack-in-the-Boxes, In-and-Out or White Castle restaurants in Louisiana. There's only one Whataburger in Louisiana, in Baton Rouge, the capital of Louisiana, and only one Krystal Burger (White Castle-like fast-food chain) in Louisiana, in Slidell. But Louisiana is the birthplace of Popeyes, Raisin' Cane's, and Bud's Broiler, among others, I'm sure.

I assume there will be other similar places that are local to or missing from Illinois, Wisconsin and Maine.

They are so good. The chicken's almost always shredded and deep fried and the whole thing is full of MSG.
