Is there a better way to wash meat than under the faucet? It's so tedious.

Just put it in the shower you idiot. The shower head is nice and broad and there is plenty of space. You can clean the wrapping in there too, all in all its just the better way of doing things.

it’s impossible to get every thing clean in the sink. you have to submerge it in the bathtub

Seconding this. I personally wash my chicken while taking a shower.

>> No.18398212

just use the poultry attachment that comes standard now with most dishwasher
don't tell me you just tossed it in the bin, anon

>> No.18398270

The nice thing about washing chicken is that you don't actually need to cook it anymore since all the bacteria has been washed off. Thats how Japanese chefs make chicken sashimi.

>> No.18398285

uhhh yeah, throw it in the washing machine 20c at 1000 rpm with your socks and they will catch any remaining feathers. Clean chicken and extra fluffy socks

On the off-chance that OP is being serious and looking for advice:
You don't need to. Just wipe off the excess goop with a paper towel. It's exactly the same stuff that's on the inside of the chicken and you're gonna cook it to a safe temperature anyway. Absolutely no reason to wash your chicken.
Don't be like those TikTok jigaboos who use fucking bleach and dish soap.

whole chicken goes on the bottom rack of the dishwasher propped up it's cavity on the prongs

I would say besides the paper towel method, a quick dip in the rotating marinating bucket would work. I have a bowl I use for marinating all my meats of all varieties and I just make sure to rotate the meat out before too long so the flavor development continues normally per each meat.

I just cut off all the exterior skin and layers. kind of like how you should always throw away the first 4-5 layers of an onion

>> No.18399026

If you are using tap water you are an idiot and a fool.
Most homes have hard water, which makes cleaning chicken difficult due to the water bouncing off the chicken before it has a chance to soak in.
You are better off using distilled.

Stealing this thread to ask a similar question. I'm marinating some chicken in water with a blend of spices. Is this retarded?

I personally have a dedicated chicken-washing station that has a built-in salt shaker so I don't fowl-up the table one when I'm making fried chicken. Honestly, I don't think you claim to have a real kitchen without that and an extra-big trash can for watermelon rinds.

pretty much, at the very least you should add salt to make it a brine. without salt, your marinade's spices can't penetrate the meat.

Black people "wash" chicken to take take the skin and fat off so they can season (or batter) the meat directly.

The joke with the tiktok shit is literally that the original guy had never cooked a day in his life, so he thought that "washing" genuinely meant using soap and water. This is like literally believing kids were eating Tide Pods.

Put it in the toilet and pee on it then flush so it gets rinsed off.
