How hard is pic related to make? Do i just bake a regular big circular bread and then scoop it out and put some soup in there?

no you make the bread dough then you cook the soup with the dough

>> No.18390298

the heat from the soup cooks the dough

Yep just put canned soup right in the middle there.

Why wouldn't it work?

>> No.18390305

Of course.
How else would you do it? Pour soup into a dough bowl and then bake it? Dough would leak, whatever didn't leak would vaporize, and the bread would be wet as shit.
Just take a bread, cut off some crust and scoop the inside yo make space for soup. Simple as.

I think the bread is sealed up a bit with a nice glaze of egg wash when baking it, as well.

My local grocery will sell the soup boiule, if you order them a day ahead. Panera would sell them to you on the spot, as well. The bread waste when you gouge it out doesn't make this worth labor and ingredients at home, I feel. Gonna make some bread pudding the next day?

- make żurek (takes about a week if you're making zakwas from scratch),
- bake bread,
- cut bread and get almost everything out,
- assemble żurek with bread,
- add hard boiled eggs,
- enjooooy.

Search "żurek w chlebie" and translate polish recipes if you want more info.
Żur is god tier hangover soup.

>Scoop the bread out.
You dumb motherfuckers. Why would you throw away 3/4ths of a perfectly good bread?
You make a lean dough with a good percentage of water, proof it so it gets to a good size, bake it with steam/hot water in another trail in the oven so it develops a crust, cut a bit of the top when it's out of the oven and cool, then you PUSH THE INSIDE OF THE BREAD TO THE BORDERS WITH A SPOON, so you can make a bowl and the dough soaks with the cheese, cream, soup or whatever you fill it with.
If the inner bread is too tough is because your dough can use more water or you left it in the oven too much.
If you have to scoop it out because the floor manager is holding your mom at gunpoint, then at least cut it in cubes or crumble it down to toast it on the oven at a low temp and use it with batter for fried chicken, onions, etc.

>> No.18391952

Because the soup is already thick enough to not need all the bread.
You can just eat it, nobody said you have to throw it away, retard.

>> No.18391990

>>18390285
Line the inside of the bread with a layer of cheese and them bake it for a bit.
The cheese layer will help stop the bread from leaking or getting soggy too fast. It will also melt into the soup, so that's pretty great too.

i was going to say this but realistically nobody eats trenchers these days (maybe some bongs do idk?) so it is unusual even if it has a pedigree. putting your goyslop on a piece of bread made sense would the average joe didn't even have a fucking plate, but it's kinda pointless now.

barszcz biały - white borscht, pretty much the same as żurek but with wheat zakwas and most often with added cream, which makes it less sour, more palatable;
Most polish soups are pretty good.

I need my daily dose of fermented cucumbers (kiszone ogórki), water from ogórki is fucking great.

Makowiec cake (pic rel) is great but it's easy to fuck up this poppy spiral inside. Racuchy jabłkowe (variation of a pancake with apples) also come to mind, cause I need to try to make them in an airfryer.
