What’s the best way to prepare an egg?

>> No.18301731

>>18301730
Terrible omelet.
And over easy.

>> No.18301741

>>18301730
An omelet should only be as long as your own dick, baked eggs smell bad, poached is the perfect consistency and flavor but is a little annoying to make, sunny side up is for lil babby, over easy is the standard, and hard boiled is for people who have given up.

I order them over medium at restaurants but they're always scared to cook them too much so I usually end up with over easy. At home I usually make omelettes or camp eggs.

Let them sit for a little so they cook on the bottom then flip them over. Don't stir constantly.

>> No.18301977

>>18301945
Low temperature and constant stirring. It's a bit of a high effort meme, but it has its place.

>> No.18301979

stir your eggs in a bowl first then pour into the pan with plenty of butter

>> No.18302006

>>18301730
Scramble the hell out of them with some butter in a saucepan over low heat. Don't use a separate bowl it's just making more dirty dishes.

Baked/Boiled/Poached/Omelette are all too much work or cleanup.

>Low heat
>Drag edges to the middle as it cooks on the bottom
>Pile up
>Rest so the gooey top has time to set
Or
>Stir constantly
>Lots of butter
>End up with egg soup

You might not like it, but scrambled is the obvious best way to cook eggs and everything else people claim is better is just a lie because they want to sound less predictable and more interesting / talented at cooking.
You'll hear these contrarians say "well that's just because scrambled is all you can make!"
But in reality, people order eggs scrambled from diners constantly, and they don't need to know how to make eggs personally since it's a diner and they'll make whatever kind of eggs you ask for. But they still ask for scrambled anyway. It's simply that good.

I like a nice Chinese steamed egg with sesame oil, light soy sauce and scallions on top. You have to remember to boil and then cool a kettle of water overnight though if you want a smooth silky texture.

Meant to say "work or cleanup or time"
It takes like 20m to bake an egg and less than 5m to scramble one. I'd rather sleep in an extra 15m than have my eggs baked.

over easy or eggs in a frame/one eyed jacks. scrambled if you are doing a full breakfast with bacon, bread, fruit salad etc. an omelet if you have some ingredients you're trying to use (for example i have some cheese and tomatoes i will put in an omelet in a few hours when i make breakfast)

i also nominate the noble egg sandwich. for me, it's fried, with grape jelly on crusty bread
