Has mobile ordering killed the in-person dining experience? It feels like every restaurant prioritizes mobile orders even if they came in after your in-person order.

>> No.18291447

nah

>> No.18291554

Yes effectively
Most chain stores have 2 or more ghost restaurants going now that they do not care what goes on in the dining room as long as no one's bleeding.

They usually clear all the devliery orders first and the stuff is just sat out going cold before they get to the people who are standing right there waiting.

I tried using doordash and it's fucking ridiculous and not worth it at all
>order at 12:40 at a place 6 miles away
>currently 2:52 and the stupid spic has gone past my house 5 times
>tried calling and they don't speak English
>get a text from them in Spanish
>first support tells me hea approaching with the order
>disconnects
>he drives by again
>second support person has had me in hold on and off for 20 minutes while the retard spic hangs out like half a mile away not moving
>offers to cancel the order
>I ask if I get refunded
>oh we can't actually even do the cancel on our end

>>18291859
Fuck doordash a million times over. Ive had drivers complain they can't find my address, and even after specific instructions they will mark it complete without dropping off anything. Then doordash keeps like half the money anyway. uber eaats has been slightly better but honestly all these services are such a fucking scam. i noticed its made people make assumptions whenever an indian guy walks into my restaurant, to the point of the host getting in trouble for asking an indian guy which order he was picking up for.
(should be noted, in my city atleast, it seems like 90% of the people did this contractor/gig economy delivery stuff is indian[india-indian, not native american-indian])

I hate it just cause i absent mindedly plate stuff up on plates most of the time, only to re-read the order and realize its actually a pickup. real ice cream consists of cream, milk, egg yolks, and sugar, which makes it one of the purest and best digesting foods available; it's highly nutritive, it stabilizes blood-glucose levels, and a handy comparison would be a glass of milk, two eggs, and a coffee with sugar and cream for breakfast. shit-fil-a ice cream on the other hand starts with milk and water and is then pumped full of unhealthy food stabilizers like carrageenan.

Mobile ordering is fine for pickup, but delivering? Not worth it. The only time I used doordash/Uber eats/grubdub religiously was when I didn't have a car, drivers license, and any of the fees that came with it. I could afford delivery and for good reason.

Now? Nah, unless there is a deal for a good price, no delivery for me. I just order for pickup from the store directly or go in person. Having car loan, insurance and gas to pay for and getting delivery is something people living paycheck to paycheck do.

I don't know where everyone's getting all this money to keep these restaurants in business. All their prices are a minimum of 40% higher than they were Pre-2020 and it was already pretty pricey for everything outside of the goyest of slop. On top of that the quality is lower and you are last in line over mobile orders 100% of the time.

I agree with this. DoorDash has beem awful everytime. Uber meanwhile is a lot more pro-customer / anti-wagie. They used to not even allow tipping which was based.
Also UE gives you more visibility into what the driver is doing. You see them on radar the entire time. And they don't start and then cancel your order a half hour later after it changes hands three times like DD seems to do constantly (probably because they don't penalize cancels as much and drivers bail when the tip's too low and the food isn't immediately ready).

Let me guess, you’ve seen one picture of a designer suburban neighborhood with cookie cutter plastic houses and assume that this is every suburb? Pic is suburban Philadelphia. Brick housing, small mom and pop stores, small farms scattered about and all within a 30 minute drive of the city.
