What are you drinking tonight? I've really taken a liking to this stuff. Thought I wouldn't like it but it's one of my favorite whiskeys. If I were to describe it to you it tastes like drinking sea water out of an old 1800 sea captains sweaty ass boot, but in a good way. Does that make sense? I like it better than ardbeg 10 honestly.

I used to love Laphroaig when I drank whisky, Talisker was my favorite though. Tonight it's mooshead lager.

I may have a sip of this cognac bottled in late 60s to mid 70s. There's literally nothing online about it. The baccarat crystal decanter is pretty cool and the color is nice, so it may be good...

Sipping on some homebrewed bitter ale from a keg right now.

Laphroaig and Lagavulin are the maximum level of peat while still being a good drop. Tasteless fuckers hitting the peat like the craft crowd overloading on hops doesn't mean Laphroaig isn't highly smoky.

This. It doesn't even make sense. It tastes nice and I like drinking it. Being kicked in the face by a horse would very possibly be lethal or at the very least cause severe injuries which is not nice at all and I would not like it. If only marketeers could stop marketing products as if it's some hard challenge only the tough can endure, that would be great. Food/drink should bring pleasure, if it would in fact be a challenge, that wouldn't be a good thing. It's the same idea as those meme Cpt. Analburn's Burning Diarrhoea Sphincter Destroyer XXX Hot Sauce type things. I do not want my anus ravaged, I am not a homosexual.

OP here. Laphroaig is not nearly as intense as some of the other peaty whisky's I've had. In fact it's pretty smooth which is why I like it. I do usually add a bit more water to my glass when I drink it then I would with say Glenlivet, but it goes down easy, doesn't bite and isn't one dimensional. However if I were to describe the flavor notes it would be peat, moss, leather, sea water. There is a bit of a caramel aftertaste that hits you at the very end too. It's not the equivalent of "HOP OVERLOAD ASSFUCK" IPA beers that you see everywhere.
