Just the other day I got me and my wife a cheeseburger and 2 regular orders of fries (their medium) and it was $34. They are definitely pricey compared to other places. But damn they're good.

I tried five guys and I was pretty underwhelmed
in-n-out is really over rated, people only think it's good because they compare to Mcdonalds

Plain jane double doubles are very fresh, they do not taste overly greasy but are moist, the veg are crunchy and look nice as well.
Fries are what most people have an issue with since they are soggy and don't have much bite, but get them with cheese or monkey style and I like them.

It was some special event burger that coincided with onion season, and it has a fuckton of grilled onions on it, and an onion bun

You have to understand why it's so loved. Imagine it's the middle of the night and you're driving through the desolate waste that is Cali from a hot party to get home. The only things open are some absolutely shady diners in industrial parks and the old in out in out. You're probably coming off a polydrug binge and haven't eaten since breakfast yesterday.

That is what makes it good. Of course you can cook at home, but home is a long ways away and someone has to drive.

I've been there a couple times. The burgers are fine and reasonably sized so it's probably better than whataburger if you're not trying to gorge yourself, but the fries are ass and animal style is a cope. The only fast food burger I was ever really impressed by was Braum's and I'm not sure that they count.
