Subway recently announced it will be adding automatic meat slicers to all 22,000 of its locations over the course of a year, according to Restaurant Business.

Are we back Subway bros?

Currently, Subway has its meat sliced at an offsite processing facility, before it is shipped to the restaurants. Going forward, meats like turkey, ham, salami, and pepperoni will be sliced in the morning and evening on location, and customers will be able to see the process.

The new slicers are made by a German company named Bizerba and are fully automatic. And unlike at a traditional deli, all employees need to do is put the meat inside and press a button—a process that has gone smoothly at test restaurants so far.

"Currently hiring!" Yeah they don't get paid enough for even more work kek, love seeing subs go out of business and desperate for more workers here in aus.

I'm tired of Subways not honoring promotions. I'm not sure if the indian franchise owners are being cheapskates or if it's corporate's fault but it's so stupid.

Quiznos also had fucked over Corporate-franchisee relations that almost killed them. Is it just a coincidence they're both sandwich companies? I heard Jimmy Johns is fucked up too.

Not sure about now, but at the time I worked and spoke with the owner, it was Subway corporate responding to the /ck/-tier "they took this form you" obsession over the $5 footlong by providing it if you could jump through hoops, and enough people would happily go through those hoops for the franchisees to get burnt over it no longer being economically viable to sell at that price.

What the fuck is that? Is it some device for people too retarded to push the handle forwards and backwards repeatedly? Do they need to install iron-lungs for these employees because they're too stupid to breathe on their own?

It's change I did not personally approve of and doesn't directly benefit me, which are two problems serious enough to post anonymously online about.
