Watching AVGN made me want to try this shit. Is it actually good? I’ve heard some mixed things about it but apparently it has a cult following.

This pretty much sums it up. It’s good for a light beer, if that’s what you’re into.

RR’s a light beer? I always thought it was a pilsner or something.

It used to be pretty good cheap beer, before the brand got acquired by AB.

>> No.18227201

>>18227029
It used to be a regional varietal of generic American lager with certain sentimental associations. Now the brand is yet another footnote in the Inbev global portfolio, liquid goyslop. It's not bad as a substitute for Dasani on a hot summer's day, but at this point you'd be better off with Yuengling as a PA brew.

I don't understand the concept of light beers very well, are they lower in calories or abv?

>> No.18227934

By law, a light beer is 33% less calories I believe. Brewers aim to keep a similar abv.

I'm from pittsburgh and yea you drink yuengling no one orders budweiser or anything else because it's one of those cities where everyone is exactly the same person with the same stupid roethlisberger jersey eating the same primanti brothers goyslop and if you order anything else people think you're a faggot (which you are)

Decades ago it was a decent, unique and cheap regionally-made beer. Not sure if any of it is actually made "In the glass-lined tanks of Old Latrobe" anymore.

It's barely 4% on a good day. I like at least a solid 6% or so but not much higher. It's like drinking a beer but without what happens when you try to drink anything but am extremely watery lager on a hot day, it's more of a logistics problem than an alcohol issue.

Buy it canned. The bottle is brewed using some accelerated process that doesn't match its history. Overall it's just a generic adjunct (corn, rice, etc) pale lager and tastes like one too, imo.

its not, it got bought out by AB in the early 2000's. I remember buying my first 12 pack of post buyout RR
