I don’t give a fuck that it’s an adjunct lager.
If I were only allowed to drink 1 beer for the rest of my life, it would be Orion.
I don’t know of a more refreshing beer when it’s hot/humid as fuck.
Even in Japan, you’ll never find it on tap unless you go to a restaurant/izakaya that specializes in Okinawan food, or live in Okinawa (fuck that shit).
Pic is draft Orion I had in Osaka at an “Okinawan” izakaya. And yes, the dish is tempura spam. Because Okinawa, which is because America.

But it’s really not worth it outside Japan because of how expensive it is, if you can even find it. When I see it in the US it’s like $18 for a six pack.
Even in Japan it’s more expensive than the other 3 on the store shelf because it has to be “imported” from Okinawa. It would be like a Hawaiian beer in mainland US.

fun fact: it's called Yuengling because he changed his name to fit into the English culture into which he was assimilating. he did this because back then it was considered desirable to get along with other Americans and to be seen as truly one of their own. Also they didn't get a perverse satisfaction from browbeating people about getting their name wrong

economies of scale are real. doesn't mean they always make the best beer, but the brewpub down the street is not going to produce a beer that competes with Coors Light

there's nothing wrong with small breweries though, some of them make great beer, and those breweries have earned their success. I just object to the much more numerous mediocrities that would have died a natural economic death if not for the legions of "Buy Local" fanatics who almost don't care that the beer they're drinking costs twice as much as a Miller High Life and tastes half as good. Keeping a terminally shit brewery on life support because it's "local" is embarrassing for everyone involved

Corona's ultra low cal, low carb beer: Corona Premier

I don't drink beer to get drunk anymore, I'm not into the craft hoppy IPA stuff anymore, and I really don't want to get a beer gut.

Just a couple bottles is all I want. This is refreshing and hits the spot in the summer.
