I'm pole addicted to mac and cheese. Get one of those bad boys in picrel, mix with cream to make a sauce and then add a shit ton on gouda and the type of mozzarella in a block, some blue cheese if i have it on hand and top with bacon if I'm feeling fancy. It actually end ups pretty cheap, comfy, protein rich and feeling. I haven't actually made it in a while but thanks to this thread I'll probably be my dinner

Use better cheese, and more of it. You'll want a pretty strongly flavored cheddar at the least. Add a little mustard to the sauce. Maybe a little sauteed onion.

If you still don't like it then that's okay. I actually started to make something more like Welsh rarebit instead and I like that more. Fresh bread seems better than pasta.

Every year for my birthday my mother wants to make me a special meal for me. I always ask for the same thing. Her homemade mac and cheese and a slice of homemade meatloaf. It is divine and what I would request as my last meal if I was on death row.
