If a parent knows how to cook every vegetable properly then their child will love every vegetable. But every parent has something they don't know how to cook and all it takes is 1 bad experience for a kid to hate a food for decades.

Cream spinacj with potatoes and scrambled eggs was one of my favourite dishes as a child and is still too this day. Never understood the other children who hated spinach.

The only experience I had with spinach growing up was some canned gray glop they served in the elementary school cafeteria, which I ate only once. I discovered spinach salad I was an adult and eat it fairly regularly now.

I hated spinach because my mother forced me to eat a raw spinach salad with every meal

I never disliked a spinach salad, like ever. Baby spinach > big leaves and stems, though. Raw sliced mushrooms, hard boiled eggs, toasted walnuts, poppyseed or honey mustard or yogurt dressing, bacon crumbles, maybe some apple slices, sesonal strawberries, or dried cranberries.
My parents didn't often make it at home, usually only got it when dining out. From steakhouse creamed spinach to lasagna. But, we did love greek food, and got a lot of spanakopita on the side. I like to garlic oil-pan fry spinach and tuck into my omelet in the morning. Best friend is famous for the knorr spinach dip at parties. Taking home some extra for a midnight snack is awesome with soft pumpernickel.

I think if your family ate canned spinach, you'd hate it too.
