Also make sure you wash the leaves well before you dry. Tobacco is a “catch” plant, it attracts insects like crazy as you can see. It is a really nice companion for cash crops that usually get merked by insects.

I had a cigar for the first time 4th of July weekend. It was alright. It seemed like no matter how hard I sucked on the thing I never got a huge amount of smoke. Like how you could suck too hard on a cigarette or joint. Not the cigar. Not sure if that's normal. It was also very mild. So my guy who brought them may just be really good at picking out cigars for noobs. It also lasted for hours. I stopped smoking it just because I was tired of holding on to the thing.

bongbros how are you coping with the heat

>> No.18126371

>>18123607
first step is getting a cheap corncob, you don't want to ruin a fancy pipe.
the first tobacco you get depends on you.
>aromatics
usually very cheap and mild, as the name suggests they have some taste added eg chocolate, vanilla, coffee, mint, rum... I dislike them because they smoke very hot and wet and don't have much taste. The pros of them is they are quite inoffensive to the non-smoker's nose.
>english blends
my favorite type of pipe tobacco. They have stronger aroma and taste and are a bit heavier on nicotine. Some tobaccos can be quite pungent and will make non-smokers run away from you. If you like smoked foods (meats, cheese, even scotch like Islay whiskies) this will please you a lot, specially blends richer in Latakia, a smoke-cured tobacco.
>straight virginia
the closest thing you'll get to cigarette tobacco, it's a middle ground between aromatics and english blends both in flavor and strength.
With pipe and tobacco in hand, you'll need to practice A LOT both packing the tobacco and then lighting/smoking.
It takes a long time before you can pack a perfect bowl and smoke with a great pace. Just watch youtube videos and practice.

For people specifically interested in pipes, we have pipe threads in /out/.

They can't tax it too much, otherwise the tobacco company have to wipe out huge loss of revenue(shrunk literally to 1%, actually), and the tobacco industrial complex collapses on itself. Also, the government would rather collect a lot of little taxes than a single huge taxe, they'd rather you keep smoking to get more of your money.
