Just got back into cigars. Built myself a little humidor; me and a buddy have been having one every Saturday evening for the last couple of weeks. My favorites lately have been:

El Güegüense from Foundations Cigar, The Swamp Rat from Drew Estate, and the shitty old Rocky Patel 1990s I’ve been smoking since I was a kid. I’ve got a few on deck for this weekend. Any suggestions for things I might want to try? I’m hoping to get a La Galera 1936 next.

>If you don't inhale you don't actually feel the effects of the tobacco
This is wrong, dumbass. How on earth do you think dip and snuff work?
Smoke is absorbed less slowly through the capillaries of the mouth as opposed to the huge surface area in your lungs, but the volume of smoke that pipes and cigars put out, along with the duration of the smoking session, all add up to getting a shitload of nicotine (anyone who's been accidentally poisoned by a strong cigar knows this)
>>18089792 is right. Cigarettes were originally scrap tobaccos picked off the street smoked by poor people, then tobacco wrapped in newspaper or scrap to smoke during wartime or on the sea when your pipe broke.
Inhalation probably happened when cigarettes started being manufactured with milder tobaccos that you actually could inhale. If tobacco had no effects without inhalation, then how come people smoked for 400 years before their invention?

The good stuff and a 20$ pipe ive been using for several months.
I have a pipe scraper / pipe cleaners but idk where the scrape thing went.
Also I like this brand cause I imagine getting pulled over, and a cop asks what I'm smoking and I get to say "the good stuff" and laugh. But then also my car gets searched but I have nothing illegal anyway.

>What're some cheaper menthol alternatives to Newports?
Swiss Ricola original and natural cough drop (the brown cube), paired with any regular cigarette. The menthol in the cough drop I find more satisfying than cigarettes with added menthol. That is unless it's picrel (Marlboro smooth). That menthol is above and beyond. In my twenties, those cigarettes gave me an incredible nicotine high. I no longer touch anything Marlboro now knowing how the additives are more habit forming than the nicotine itself.

there is absolutely no evidence that there is an actual difference, so the only reason why it tastes different is from schizophrenia

the 4mg are way better than zyn's (not as much burn/salt) - I think it's because they use real tobacco instead of synthetic. Better deal than zyn too - you can get 2 for $4 generally and more if you order them online.

Nic pouches have that burn like snus, but you get used to it.

January of this year, turned 23 in May.
>why
I figured that there must be something to cigars and pipes considering all of the greats that smoked them before, nevermind the history spanning millennia. Hell my grandfather loved pipes and it was a lifetime of coal dust exposure that did him in.
>also came to terms with the fact that there’s toxic shit literally everywhere from stuff in the water/food/air to microplastics, so you’re fucked on that front anyways
>and even then its the only “vice” I have, I never drink anything but black coffee/tea/water and sometimes milk, stay relatively active, and keep the garbage food to a minimum, so if I’m really bound for cancer I don’t think a few pipes or cigars every so often (that I never inhale and always brush my teeth after smoking) are going to seriously affect it, I see it as the stress relief being more beneficial than anything else anyways
