i cook and drink so i try to slow my roll. if i get too drunk i start burning food considering i have to multi-task multiple pans and maybe even the grill outside too.

Moonshine is usually akin to white whisky, i.e. not aged in oak.

Make a 'Faderade', drink 1/4 bottle of Gatorade, fill it back up with the vodka, put the cap on and shake.

Can't taste the vodka and just a couple will get you lit.

Cheap vodka is horrid. If you've ever had Barton's or Wolfschmitt in the lower midwest, you know what I mean. It almost tastes like it has something in it that is a cleaning chemical or one of those tastes they put into things to make sure people spit it out.

But good vodka...it's actually nice. It has nearly no taste. It seems like you're just drinking water with pure alcohol in it. I find this more in russian vodkas to be honest, unfortunately now banned in the US.

Either way, I'm of the opinion that vodka is best in mixed drinks. It's not distilled to have a taste. It isn't aged in barrels like whiskey or rum. Purpose of vodka is to get you drunk

Unless you get topshelf, vodka is just for mixed drinks. Anything charcoal filtered is going to taste like trash, you want to look for peat filtered.

I've never found vodka mixed with anything to be nice, except perhaps a vodka Martini. In the club I would always just sip the vodka and take a gulp of Red Bull to chase it down. Mixing the two was absolutely loathsome.

You get the cheapest, least offensive alcohol (Smirnoff, which also wins blind taste tests) and then chug it as shots (put it in the fridge/freezer to make it almost tasteless) or put it in mixed drinks to cover up the taste.
Vodka is intended to have no flavor other than ethanol, that's why it is the king of mixed drinks.

I used to mix mine with milk and sweet cocoa powder, I liked it a bit too much and ended up throwing up
