Rate my homemade dinner - pan seared halibut with pesto risotto and a crispy prosciutto garnish.

Looks like a pretty delicious combo, but execution and plating absolutely need work.

I agree, it sounds delicious and I’d definitely eat it, but the plating looks like it was done by a child

Looks just like the instagram recipe you followed, except it doesn't look nice and there's hardly any browning on the fish.

Maybe next time try something like doing a little finer chop on the tomatoes with some basil and evoo, and lemon mixed together. Sprinkle that on top/around the fish and then sprinkle crumbly bits of prosciutto on top of that.

Just an idea. The fish and prosciutto kind of look like a bed lol.

Looks good anon, I think the halibut could've had a better sear but I would eat it and enjoy it. Good job

oven baked halibut in aluminum foil on a bed of pesto rice with a side of bacon and diced tomatoes? white rice would have been better.

I'm too lazy for risotto despite it being one of my favorite foods :\ anytime I try to make it it ends up becoming some sorta shitty rice pudding because of my impatience.

Is the pesto risotto any good? The only risottos I ever had were cheesey.

There is cheese in pesto

from the thumbnail I thought this was a gregg's steak bake on a bed of mushy peas

The plating looks like you're having a funeral for it.

looks good, but I probably wouldn't put the fish on top of the risotto as the textures will kind of mush together when you eat them both like that, which doesn't make a lot of sense when you have a nice bit of fairly expensive fish

Risotto looks dumb on a plate especially when it's not even centred, put it in a bowl.

No. It should be served piping hot and you serve it on a plate and shake the plate to distribute the risotto across it. a good risotto levels out.
