I need to bake or make a cake for my sister's birthday
I've never done any sort of baking before in my life.
Any suggestions on some easy cakes?

Why not just buy one? Who is forcing you to bake a cake which is a skill you're not familiar with? Cheesecake with dulce de leche would be hard to fuck up.

>cheesecake

OP - look up how to make a cheesecake without baking - crush Oreos with butter for the bottom and create the cheesecake mix for the top - add some Jam on the surface and voila, cheesecase done

Seriously this is the right answer anon, try out a simmilar idea to this and everything will be fine

This, but instead of butter and oreos, use digestives (the cracker)

Is cheesecake for a birthday a NY thing or some shit? Buncha fuckin' goy shit up in here.

OP didn't say it needed to be a birthday cake. It's for a birthday, but that doesn't necessarily mean it should be a birthday cake.

This anon has a point - I might have went a bit over the board with oreos - sweet crackers/tea biscuits are the base version, oreos were supposed to be an upgrade

This is 100% correct
Baking is basic chemistry, box mixes use the precise amounts of pure ingredients, even some pro bakers use them as their base
Just find a flavor she likes and follow the directions exactly and you will excel here
The biggest difference between an amateur and a pro cake is the presentation, so use a nice serving plate, borrow one if you have to
Also take great care on the icing, and if you lack artistic/craft skills find a clever girl and ask for help, most will be happy to save you

get one of those cake pans that let you push the bottom out if you go the cheesecake route. or a spring form but that seems a bit much for a one off bake

why would be tasked with making one then? you’re better off just buying one at a bakery

Get/bake a sponge cake that you can split into three equally thick/thin layers.

Cut thin slices of banana to cover the bottom layer, put a thin layer of strawberry jam topped with slices fresh strawberries on the other layer. use the third bit of sponge cake as the top. now, cover the whole cake in whipped cream, top and sides (don't add sugar to the cream), and cover the creamed sides and top with sliced fresh strawberries and maybe one or three "centerpiece" whole strawberries on the top in the middle.

Delicious, and pretty much as simple as it gets. make sure to whip cream and finish it as late as possible, and keep it in the fridge once it's done.

some gen Z levels of narcissism right there.

By the way, as an addendum:
You can find decent sponge cakes ready made in most grocery stores, at least where I live, so you don't even have to really bake it yourself to be honest.

SO WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO MAKE????

>> No.18028119

>>18028113
Also, another addendum:
don't do the amerimutt bs of getting the "Whypp3d Krihm" in a spray can. Get real heavy cream and whip it in your blender (or if you must, by hand, but that takes some stamina).
