Corn dogs are better than hot dogs.

There's a fish and chip place near me that does battered saveloy and it's utter garbage. Like, seriously, barely an eight of inch of batter. Please export the American corndog globally because I can't suffer like this anymore...

frozen or homemade?

I have been buying the cornbread twists from the Pillsbury can and wrapping them around oven baked dogs.

>> No.18013516

When freshly deep fried at the fair they are delicious. Out of a box in the freezer they are awful.

Frozen can be okay, only for some fucking insane reason foster farms has cornered the entire market so they’re all disgusting chicken now. Who the fuck wants a chicken dog?

Pretzel dogs

>> No.18013847

they're so boring, you can't pile up tons of shit on them like you can with a hot dog

>> No.18013860

>>18013522
can we put that potato in the ground, or no?

SOON.

>> No.18013892

>>18013847
the simplicity is what makes them good. you have to nail the batter and get a good quality dog, after that all you need is seasoning and sauce. i personally prefer it to loading up my food with a bunch of bullshit toppings. two, three maximum if i'm going that route.

>> No.18013911

yes. auntie anne's pretzel dogs are the best

>> No.18013914

>>18013847
loading up hot dogs with a shit load of toppings is such a gimmick. a dog, a bun, some sauce, and 1 topping (onion usually) is all you need. put the other toppings on your plate if you want to eat them.

pretzel dogs are pretty good, but a freshly fried corndog is amazing.

reverse the stuffing roles and it's perfect. Seriously, that pickle will overcome dog taste easily unless it's something like the hunter's sausage

>> No.18014213

I'm an Europoor who has never been to north america, so I haven't tried them, but they look like one of few american food things worth a try. I myself would season andnspice the batter with stuff like cayenne andncumin, it would probably make it bomb.

There's usually an obscene amount of sugar added to the corn meal. It's not so much corn bread, but rather corn cake

you have to be either insanely fat or a child if you like corndogs more than regular hot dogs. pigs in a blanket easily win in the hotdog consumption competition
