This would be a good thread to ask. Anon, who got a glorious Nihon microwave, how is it going? Did you fix the plug with a separate ground cable thing?

I got an electrician to come and he fixed the plug situation, but the machine itself was not working properly. It gave me an error message pretty much all the time, and the microwave itself wasn't heating things up even if I got it to function. So I called a repairman and he told me the megatron or whatever was bad, and there was something wrong with some of its board... so it's being repaired. He told me he got someone from Toshiba to help (not the Japanese Toshiba, obv). Supposedly it gets fixed by the end of the week. I told him I don't mind paying for the repair so long as the machine as a whole is operating as it should. Let's see...

Sad. Fuck off troll. Anything you can make with your grill or oven I can make more efficiently with a microwave.

Time to take the microwave scrambled eggs redpill, OP. I'd put them up against any top chef's stove scrambled eggs.

It's a pain in the ass. You have to stop and stir or it turns into rubber. It's doable, though.

I really only wanted it for microwave popcorn. that's a unique treat nothing else can do the same.

Using them for processed frozen food is degenerate. Toaster oven / stove / real oven is far superior.

I reheat most things in the microwave and then finish them off in the toaster oven to crisp them back up

Sometimes I just need a thing to be warmer than it is in a relatively short time. I'm not an impoverished retard so I use a microwave in those instances.

There are lots of instant food products that are basically made for microwave heating.
e.g. a cup of easy mac or a maruchan noodle block. Though not the cup kind of instant noodles because the styrofoam will poison you or something.
Most of the bad quality people stereotype microwaves with involve not using the microwave correctly. If you don't use enough water or you use way too much heating time then you'll probably end up with nasty hard plastic-like texture. If you use plenty of water though and keep the heating times to a minimum you can guarantee perfect quality every time.
That said, don't use microwaves for spam. There is no way to match pan frying with a microwave for that. You can end up with an almost edible microwaved spam result but it will be nowhere close to as good as if you used a frying pan and stove.

No, I'm American and have used microwaves for 30 years. My house has both a microwave and a gas range in it and I use both depending on what the food is.
