I use to have one of those back when I was more into body building and ate mostly chicken breast. sure it gets the job done but its not like it makes it taste amazing or anything.

Get a good quality cast iron frying pan, if you're lucky you can find them real cheap at thrift stores. Make sure you season it properly before you start cooking.

salt, peper, msg (optional), cumin, paprika, onion and garlic powder.
that can honestly be your go to for most of everything. play with the ratios, taste the spices, and youll learn what you are missing when you season.
as far as steak goes, you just need salt, pepper, garlic (not powder and not that glass jar trash. fresh garlic) olive oil, and butter. rosemary and thyme are optional but add a lot. get a cast iron and get that shit hot. put the butter in with a tiny bit of olive oil. the olive oil is just there so the butter doesnt burn. slap the steak in with your rosemary and thyme. cook 2 mins on each side. on the last 30 seconds on the second side, add your garlic. also while cooking the entire time, get a spoon and drench the melted butter on the steak as it cooks. you will have a better med rare steak than most restraunts and didnt have to tip if you are a burger bro.

I'd rather cook my own steak, but if you want a good steakhouse do your research. The answer is usually not a chain but rather a good local place.

Kosher sea salt and black pepper, season liberally, the meat raw should look like it got a fresh dusting of snow. If you can, let the meat sit for 30 minutes to draw out any moisture as that will help with browning.

100% of the time I've had steak at a restaurant, it comes out overdone and underseasoned.
I can deal with an overdone steak, but having a tasteless piece of meat who has never seen a piece of salt before makes me sad

there's a butchery 6 mins from me (I have measured the walking distance) that opened up shop a few months back, so I either buy steak from them and make it on my own, or eat i tthere, since they also make food with steak being the most common option

the only restaurants I have ever had a bad steak at were IHOP and applebees.

some of the best were at Lone Star (never had a bad steak there).
same for Black angus.
I've been to Ruth's Chris Steak House.
The compass room.
Outback (it was ok).
Texas Roadhouse
Firebirds wood fired grill
Olive garden (used to have a good t-bone).
chilleen's on 17
Fogo de Chao (so good).
Ferraro’s Ristorante Las Vegas (one of the all time best Ribeyes).
Durant's
Steak 44
Texaz grill
Chelsea's Kitchen

I rarely go out for a steak unless it's a birthday dinner or something like that. It's far cheaper and better to just cook it at home. Ruth's Chris is probably the best chain steakhouse though
