Why did all the pizza huts get rid of the buffets? Was pure kino how they had the tiny slices so you could eat 10+ slices in one sitting and try out all the different toppings in one go. Plus you could actually eat a real serving of pasta, unlike the combo meals they have now where they give you enough pizza for a family of four but only enough pasta for everyone to get one fork full.

Because they had to cut costs so they could afford to groom children with cross dressing coloring books.

There are more people inclined to gorge these days. Getting people to pay to fill up on as much dough as they want was a better business model when a larger percentage of customers stopped at the point of satiation.

They were on their way out before that, but it was the nail-in-the-coffin.

I think the steady loss before 2020 was primarily a combination of two things:
1. The buffet becoming less of a draw, due to carry-out and delivery only places like Domino's, Little Caesars, gas stations, etc. becoming the norm. Sit-down is still around of-course, but this tends to be with higher quality places that are often a general Italian-style restaurant alongside a pizzeria.
2. Actual decline in Pizza Hut as a chain, including quality and unique items that drew people to them over other chains. Other people on /ck/ have brought up how they were just a shittier chain after the 90s, and I agree with it.

They were losing money on it and the 'rona was the perfect excuse to do away with it.
