Probably the most humble meal I had was when I was on the Camino de Santiago in 2005. I stayed in some monastery and the Abbot there gave out "sopa de ajo" or garlic soup which was essentially water soup with garlic and bread crumbs and oil.
It was pretty good though.

For me, it's porkliver paté, which is very common and cheap here in Denmark.
