That's about as American as my uncut dick.
If it was beef and almost literally any other wood besides beech, they'd be on to something.
In general, Americans don't eat pork hot dogs.

i had an urge for hotdogs recently and bought a jar of dino's. they were ok, i made some nice hotdogs. but i live by myself and i had far too many frankfurters left, and the jar said use within 4 days of opening. so i started adding them into everything to try and get through them. slicing them up in salads, adding bits of them to breakfasts, grating them over spaghetti. by the end of day 4 my poos smelt exactly the same as dino's jumbo hotdogs. it was unnerving how identical the aroma was. i haven't eaten any dino's since.

Beef is more luxurious than pork, and always has been. Pork was widespread in europe because peasants weren’t allowed to raise cattle (which was reserved only for the aristocracy). By contrast, in the free world you could raise whatever animal you wanted. People decided they liked beef the best, so raised cattle.
You can get pork sausages, they’re cheaper than beef ones. But beef tastes better 99% of the time.
