It would be cool if we used this thread to check how constant and quality our grinders are. Pick related is an early test for my cheap one for cold brew after being sifted for fines. Its better to have more particles though.

However, a typical moka coffee is extracted at relatively low pressures of 1 to 2 bar (100 to 200 kPa),[9] while standards for espresso coffee specify a pressure of 9 bar (900 kPa). Therefore, moka coffee is not considered to be an espresso and has different flavor characteristics.[14][15]

Finally stocked up on coffee & cream today. Got a few different varieties, some Ethiopian, got some from the DRC and a few others. The Flair, especially the 58 one, absolutely delivers the same espresso as you'd get in a coffee shop from a standard machine. Maybe even better coffee. More expensive options are just a lot more convenient and uninvolved. Also there's the milk steamer thing.

Also gonna adjust my redclix cuckmandante for Turkish grind for some 50% arabica Napoli blend. Hope it won't take me 3 mins to grind a dose.

Hello coffeefags, first time in the thread,

I drink INSTANT COFFEE, maybe 1-2 times a day, I take 4 teaspoons and scoup that shit in a mug, and put hot water int it, mix it, voila

Call me a pleb but I like convenience, this is the shit I buy in my shithole's supermarchen (pic related)

"Made from selected coffee beans, which are roasted, ground and filtered naturally, NESCAFE® CLASSIC® coffee wakes up"

Works for me, but I like buying shit in bulk to save money and if I can improve the flavor too, why the hell not. Got any recommendations for me /ctg/? I wont bother to do more than pour boiling water in it, the rest is too complicated for me

Now this might just be my tea background, but is there any disadvantage making a big press full of coffee and letting the grounds just sort of steep there between cups? I actually find it quite an interesting way to drink coffee. With each cup, you start to lose clarity but you gain some texture. I have never found it to go overly bitter if left too long. The main problem is it gets too muddy.

just say what your max is, $50? $100? $500?
also what country? i assume america but you never know.
anyway i would recommend a Geisha from panama, i bought 100g for $50 a few months ago and it was the best coffee i had ever tasted (mind you i brew with a moka pot and im in australia.) it won some competition like 20 years ago and was rated 90+ (these days its only around mid 80s).
its called "Panama, Finca Lerida Geisha". im sure other anons here will call me a fag and a retard and their coffee is better but thats just my experience.

>I don't know why that generation wanted their coffee as roasted as possible but that's just how it went
Because prior to modern processing techniques, light roast coffee had a high chance of spoiling during the drying process. Light vs dark roast wasn't so much a choice between light vs dark flavor as it was "spoiled" vs "at least it fucking tastes like coffee" flavor

Baratza Virtuoso Preciso. Good enough for a decent pourover. I also have a Timemore manual grinder.

Idk, I really don't think folgers is as bad as people say it is. It's fairly meh, nothing particular good or bad about it. I've made much worse coffee with shitty pourover technique.
