Hi /ck/, I'm a fat fuck in the middle of a cut but suck at cooking.
I've been making this stuff called "peel a pound soup" which is an ultra-low cal soup you can eat as much as you want of.
Here's my current iteration of the recipe (I hated the basic one you find online):

- white onion
- shiitake mushrooms
- celery
- carrots
- napa cabbage
- garlic
- bouillon cubes
- cumin
- liquid smoke

It's honestly pretty good at this point, especially with some sour cream or hot sauce.
My question to you: how can I continue to improve on this? I'm totally out of ideas
Thanks bros

Sautee the vegetables before adding them, they're still good raw but sauteeing them will add another level of flavor.

I've been sauteeing the onions and mushrooms in the pot before adding other stuff. should I do the same with the other vegetables too?

>>17830525
they were rancid for the first week or two. at this point my body has adjusted to the extreme stress that I've been putting it under so the shits have been (nearly) fine

Do what the others said and sautee all the veg except the leafy greens beforehand
Experiment with herbs and spices, some thyme or paprika might go far
Add tomatoes if you like them and you have something akin to minestrone
Dried porcini mushrooms make the most bomb ass stock, they are expensive but there may be some chilling in your local woods for free
Maybe some beans? Idk
