Today, I had an authentic New York “dirty water dog”. It had mustard, sauerkraut, and onions in some kind of tomato-based sauce. They had ketchup too but I didn’t get that. $2.50. Good stuff!

>new yorkers relentlessly shit on the very thought of somebody using ketchup on their pig anus sausages.

>they slather them in onions stewed in ketchup ("""onion sauce""")

The hypocrisy

Gordon Ramsay charges $15 for a literal Sabrett street-cart dog.

Calm your shit, Brayden McZoomZoom. You’re conflating New Yorkers with Chicagocucks.

Yeah but the street cart doesn't have truffle fries for an addition 12 dollars plus additional cooking and table delivery fee.

What I don't get is wine pricing. They have Cabernet Sauvignon on their menu, I saw that at the store the other day and it was only $15. Here it's $80. For a bottle! They don't even have to mix it up like a cocktail.

That's the corking fee. You have to bring the bottle. Also the mandatory NYC fine for doing literally anything

I think the anti-ketchup stereotype is a Chicago thing.

Nobody in New York eats dirty water dogs other than tourists. They aren't considered to be tasty or unique, any more than popcorn at theaters, it's just there. If a New Yorker wants a hot dog, they go to Papaya King.

i normally dont bother with ketchup because it already has so many onions, tomatoes, and sauerkraut on it that putting condiments on it will make it too messy plus im worried about eating it fast before it gets soggy
