Calzones are the early prototype of the modern Totino's pizza roll and its big brother, the Hot Pocket. There is no justifiable reason to produce calzones other than as a historical curiosity, since they have been superseded by much better, more refined options.
Its been obsolete for decades, eating one today is like still daily driving a Ford Model T in 2022.
