Saifedean Ammous claims that the demonization of meat by governments over the last fifty years is due to governments trying to meme a shit diet to cover up the fact that not everyone can afford to eat healthy.

I think there's some truth to this. In prisons and in state hospitals they serve portions that could only possibly sate the hunger of small women, children or the elderly. You see the pathetic servings Michelle Obama memed US kids into eating at schools. Meat is minimized everywhere governments are providing food, ostensibly for our health, but it just seems like a cynical cost saving measure to me.

Does /ck/ agree with Ammous's theory?

globalists making everyone vegetarian, "whiny vegans" are a psyop to make people forget how annoying and shit vegetarians and vegetarianism is so people like them and turn vegetarian and when everyone is vegetarian they'll make everyone a vegan by making them look good compared to whatever more extreme thing they can invent to make vegans to look good until everyone becomes a vegan while the global elite will continue eating as much meat and animal products they want as they make us all eat worse and worse things until all the peasantry can't even eat the plants eating some totally artificial chemicals that came from nothing alive when theyve forced us all into plasticarianism or whatever while they pig out on everything they want.

Ah sweet, another schizothread. Help the monsters I made up are attacking and my perfectly intact world is crumbling in my imagined and internet-shilled reality!

Get off your ass, touch grass and realize the algorithms have fucked up your brain. Everything you do online is tracked and advertisers are making money off of scaring you, lol.

Organizations like the meat industry?

No, because if it were true there'd be some kind of actual drive to demonize meat specifically. At least in America there certainly hasn't been. Nobody is eating less meat, it isn't harder to get meat, we aren't being warned to stop eating meat. I see absolutely no evidence of this theory.
Its obvious not everyone can afford to eat healthy, but that has nothing to do with meat anyway.

The war against meat is an attempt to restore an old privilege where meat was only truly accessible to the upper classes. Nothing more.

That's not a crusade against meat, though. That's one kind of meat for a specific reason. It isn't what the OP is peddling and that wouldn't make sense in the context he is putting forth.
