My idiot mom bought regular helmans m*yo instead of the Whip. How can I give this bland crap some tangy zip? Miracle Whip keeps their recipe of 20 spices a closely guarded trade secret, has it ever been leaked or recreated experimentally? I can't even name 20 different spices.

>> No.17757002

>According to Kraft archivist Becky Haglund Tousey, Kraft developed the product in house, using a patented "emulsifying machine", invented by Charles Chapman, to create a product that blended mayonnaise and less expensive salad dressing, sometimes called "boiled dressing"[4] and "salad dressing spread". The machine, dubbed "Miracle Whip" by Chapman, ensured that the ingredients, including more than 20 spices, were thoroughly blended

>Miracle Whip is made from water, soybean oil, high-fructose corn syrup, vinegar, modified corn starch, eggs, salt, natural flavor, mustard flour, potassium sorbate, spice, and dried garlic.[7] The original Miracle Whip is produced using less oil compared to traditional mayonnaise, thus has around half of the calories. Due to added corn syrup it is also sweeter compared to mayonnaise

>> No.17757032

-hfcs
-vinegar
-salt
-mustard
-dried garlic
That's 5. Any speculation on what the other 15 spices hidden under "natural flavors and spices" are?

I get why people like Miracle Whip but I'd say regular mayo is what has the "tangy zip," while Miracle Whip reduces the bite of regular mayo while also sweetening the taste.
I personally can't stand Miracle Whip but if you like it you like it.

Whatever you're batching out for what you're using it for (or right in a 2/3 full jar) - toss a bit more vinegar at it, a pinch of sugar and salt, a little bit more mustard powder, and a little bit of cayenne, and some msg, worcestershire, or even fish flakes (katsuobushi). Stir, whip, or blend thoroughly. Close enough for jazz music.

I get kimchi from the farmers market and it comes in a pretty big container so I've been trying to use it up in sandwiches and it's good but it's too spicy for me so I can't use much - it's supposed to be their non-spicy kimchi (they have a separate extra-spicy variety)

I also like slices of roasted pineapple in a sandwich
