What are some good foods and/or easy to prepare meals for weight loss. Could use some simple recipes since I know what healthy food is. I have to shed weight but I started lifting a few months ago so I'd also prefer something high in protein to conserve muscle mass as a lose weight. I'm only like 2 lbs overweight but plan on losing 10-20 over the course of a few months so nothing extreme is needed

personally I had the best results by using intermediate fasting to really control the amount of food I ate. Just skipping breakfast and not eating after dinner kept me at a 500 cal deficit throughout the week.
as for foods I use to curb hunger during the day I really like celery sticks. Just moonch on them, maybe some humus or a can of sardines as well.
Also big protip weigh your food. You might be eating way more or way less than you think. Costco had some taylor digital scales on sale for like 12 bucks last time I was there.

Picture is shit because you should be getting split chicken breasts and breaking it down, using the bones for stock to add flavor to dishes and the meat for a lower price.

>topic
Canned black beans and salsa warmed up makes for an incredibly cheap and healthy dish that is still at least edible if the salsa is good.

Ah, for me its whole chicken, eggs and cottage cheese. Processing chicken gets pretty fun too, and when you've got a carcass you can make your own chicken stock that's healthier and way less sodium than store bought.

buy a slow cooker
buy bottom shelf meat
>its actually better if its bottom shelf as proper meat melts away, thick cuts are better for slow cookers

Just the two packs of chicken is probably about $20, maybe a couple bucks more. That KFC meal is probably less than $20 - if not, then $20 will feed you for a day and a half at chik-fil-a.

This image is outdated by at least ten years.
Chicken breast alone is consistently closer to $3 per pound, even at fucking walshart.
This haul comes closer to $40, a 100% increase.
The KFC meal is still a shit deal, but at $26 it's only a 30% increase over what the comparison image shows.

$20 can easily feed one person for a week, but you're going to be making some compromises. Two types of meat? Nah. A gallon of milk? That's 20% of your budget.
Grab some chicken thighs, potatoes, rice, beans, frozen broccoli, apples, and yogurt. This fits easily into a $20-$25 budget, and you're set all week.

Even if I aggressively try to come up with reasons to use mayo, I can't finish a jar in the recommended 3 months. I'd be lucky to get 1/3 of the way through it.

Probably if you only eat the same 3 meals over and over this might seem like good advice though.

there is no way you can get all that food for $20, at least not in canada.

even at No Frills, a cheaper grocer, i estimate that would cost:

1. 2 pounds of chicken breast = $11
2. 10 pounds of potatoes = $5
3. 8 ears of corn = $10
4. 1 pound of peaches = $5
5. 1 gallon of skim milk = $7
6. 1 pound of ground beef = $6
7. 32 ounces of yogurt = $5
8. 18 ounces of oats = $4
9. 2 pounds of frozen peas = $3
10. 1 pound of kidney beans = $4

Total = $60

That seems about right for that much food here, desu. And yes I know our country has absolutely out of control food prices and it's terrible.

>> No.17698612

also, just adding - that KFC 8 piece with fries, biscuits, drink, gravy, coleslaw, and mac would probably cost around $49.99 here.

breakfast is egg sandwich and protein shake. Lunch is a lot of plain Greek yogurt with blueberries, a drizzle of agave, and flaky salt. Dinner is balsamic chicken with rice and a veggie. Adds up to around 17-1900 calories and abouy 200g protein. Sometimes i will just have a big turkey sandwich for dinner instead.

That's probably because inflation doesn't include consumer grocery, because the price of food that we pay at the supermarket is considered "too volatile".
