My father always said duck and duck eggs are for frenchy homos. A straightforward man is satisfied with good honest chicken, and turkey on Thanksgiving.

Duck's generally a richer, creamier egg which is definitely ideal for a desert like Tiramisu.

I'm moving into a house and the sellers are leaving a coop with 5 hens. How many eggs can I expect to get a day? Do you let them run around the yard or keep them in the enclosure?

I've never had eggs fresh from the pooter, im kind of excited. I imagine myself walking out back with a cup of coffee in hand and snagging an egg still warm from a hen's rear end.

Provided they're under 4 years old theyll lay 4-5 eggs per hen every week. In the winter they all but stop laying.
They like to dig and lots of things like to eat them. So free ranging them depends are your circumstances.
They're great at eating all your food scraps too.
