I actually was surprised how good Wendy's chili was when I tried it. Needless to say they'll probably get rid of it when corporate decides they need to streamline the menu and reduce operating costs. Just like every other good fast food item that was unfortunate enough to not be a burger or fries.

>> No.17652187

>>17652159
they literally make it from hamburgers they drop on the floor, pretty sure its safe

>> No.17652393

>>17652159
Wendy's whole gimmick is their hamburgers are never frozen, ever.

They make the chili from hamburger meat that is turning brown, or on the verge of going bad.

They gotta figure out something to do with it.

This method to lessen the amount of waste is something I wish more places did.

most places just freeze everything until the day before they plan to use it. It works fine.

Based. I miss dipping yellow package Wendy's fries into their chilli

That's actually pretty smart. No wonder it's so cheap and actually pretty good.

>> No.17654357

Their chili might actually be safe from corporate corner cutting for the aforementioned reason of using meat about to turn. No other fast food place has an item on their menu for similar reasons. It's already a cost cutting measure and something unique from its competitors. People have bitched about their chili because they use "old" hamburger, but I've never been disappointed or even made sick from eating their chili.

i am a former wendy's employee. we didnt make the chilli from patties that fall on the floor thats gross, that shit goes in the trash. but we DID sure as hell make it from the old ass patties that sit on the stove for a long ass time and get all dry and shit. we take those and then chop them all up and put it in this big ass ziplock bag, then throw it in the walk-in freezer at the end of the night. in the morning we take the meat and put it in this giant strainer and rinse it with warm water, then throw it in a metal container and then you're ready to mix it with the chilli sauce and beans and heat that shit up.
we never make the chilli from fresh cooked patties, always day-old, sometimes two day-old dry patties.
shits nasty.

It probably isn't. Eating day old meat that sits out or 2 day old meat is potentially hazardous as most of the time you are supposed to refrigerate food after it cools down.
