>/ck/ insists ragusea is wrong and making fries in a home kitchen isn't a laborious, dangerous and annoying process
>meanwhile I just go get a large fry at mcdonald's for $1 through the app which is faster, cheaper, and better than anything anyone can make in a home kitchen
whenever I entertain guests I will usually just buy some steaks and serve them with mcdonald's fries. everyone says I make amazing fries, but they don't know my little secret (hehe)

why would OP kill himself? to purchase enough potatoes, oil, and energy to make as many fries in a mcdonald's large would surely go over $1. that isnt even factoring in time.

It's not about ability, it's about time. The entire process is too time consuming from prep to cleanup for something as pedestrian and low effort as fries.

What's up with that shit?

In the Netherlands almost all families had one of these. Until suddenly everything had to be healthy and now everybody owns an airfryer.

(Except me of course, I still have a deep fryer, because I'm a rebel)

Also not that uncommon here in Germany. Air fryers are a meme though. They just make dry ass food and an oven can do the same.

We have literally the worst fries, even when they are fresh and actually have salt on them. Generally you are lucky if your fries have either.

I don't think you understand our profit margin on fries and drinks. Even with economies of scale on the Mcdix side you will always be better off buying buns and frozen burger patties to cook at home. Even more so with buying and frying potatoes or just baking frozen fries. There is nothing at the golden arch es worth buying unless you are stupid, lazy, or just have time too valuable to waste waiting for "food".

Based truth bringer.
Can't stand the "fry at home" videos. When you buy restaurant fried food, you're paying so you don't have the hassle of a greasy oily kitchen and the clean up of a frying station. Fast food wagies have said it before, their clothes reek of oil after a shift.
