Because lucy, cosmic crisp, pink lady, and sugarbee apples exist. Opals too. Fujis are fantastic when properly ripe, but simply too inconsistent compared to other varieties.

Yeah they are the most consistent for sure. I love Pink Ladies, but the last batch I got from Aldi was shit. Macintoshes are another favorite, but they are hard to find outside of the fall months.

I love the flavor of granny smiths I just hate the texture. Can't stand mushy, mealy apples. I need that firm "crunchy" texture like Honeycrisp, and sometimes Fuji and Gala have.

I'm gonna try a Fuji next time I have an opportunity though, never had one.

Advice for apple brethren: farm stands in the fall have lots of random varieties to try, and even if they're not your new favorite, they're always good. Apple picking is fun if you round up some friends.

Pink ladies are the best, of course. Honey crisp and cosmic crisp are the memes.

I have tried these and i was expecting it to be good but i didnt care for it. I dont know if these were particularly bad examples of the variety but it was a very dense apple and not crisp. The flavor was very watered down and lacked complexity. I had really high hopes for it since i read about it.
