Why do they stuff chickens with offal? Pulling them out is an annoying extra step, and they invariably end up in the garbage.

There’s a reason why offal phonetically sounds like awful. No one should eat this shit. This isn’t even a poorfag issue, eating offal is literally eating like a medieval peasant. We live in the 21st century. We produce so much good food what’s the harm in throwing away some organs?

I tried doing chicken gizzards in the slow cooker last night and they turned out horrible. They were tender like I wanted, but the taste was absolutely horrible. The only way to really enjoy them is to soak them in milk and then fry them, as with most organ meats.

Hearts are always good, though. It's just lean muscle, it actually just tastes like dark meat.

My favorites are livers. They're kind of an acquired taste. Fried livers are the best, but I've sautéed them and even turned them into a paté and that was great.

The amount of nutrition available in organ meats is insane, far more vitamins than you can get out of any normal meats or vegetables.

>> No.17596105

>>17596065
I don't mind the taste of offal but I usually get sick of eating it straight after just a couple bites. I like it better when it's mixed with something else. If you buy a whole chicken then you can just chop everything up and mix it together with some spices like coriander and black pepper, then bread it and fry it. It actually makes it so you don't taste any individual thing too strongly. Tastes good with some onion and mustard. Or you could chop it up along with some meat so the taste of it isn't too strong, kind of like with liverwurst.

>> No.17596107

Yeah, because I can scarf them down all day long when I get them from a place that knows how to fry them! I'm telling you, offal isn't bad.

That's definitely how people back in the day used to get all the benefits of organ meats, because there's just one organ per animal. One thing my father does for Thanksgiving is he makes a gravy out of the neck, liver, gizzards, and heart. When it's cooked well, you hardly know you're eating it.

lab grown meat currently is a meme
look up "FBS" or "Fetal Bovine Serum" its currently needed in order to make lab grown meat, you get it by killing.. well.. bovine fetuses and there currently are no artificial / plant based substances which can properly replace FBS.
This is currently a byproduct of the meat industry but I can gurantee you that as soon as lab grown meat becomes more acceptable to the average person there will be FBS farms.

So this kinda goes directly against why so many people even want lab grown meat.
Just eat less meat but higher quality or buy game if you have moral issues with animals dying.

Last time I checked in with the matter the problem was that none of the (current) replacement options even come close to the desired end result and are most of the time even more costly.
Not saying that it will stay this way im just very pessimistic about it.
Just eat less meat and we wouldn't even have to do this, I guess.
