Most overrated hot sauce. Cholula Original is 10x better and still a mediocre sauce

I don't really care for this brand of vinegar.
I usually prefer rice wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar.

very funny, actually not. red vinegar for soups, apple cider vinegar for health/ fasting, rice wine for cooking, tabasco for sauce seasoning

I'll give it credit if you want heat and not to add too much flavour to what you're adding it to but that's all it has going for it really. Like >>17539620 said it's just a hot vinegar.

>> No.17539727

>>17539695
i concede it is strong vinegar flavor but saying it only is vinegar flavor is disingenuous. the pepper shines through and once you get used to the heat and it doesn't overpower the flavor (took me a while, t. whitey) the flavor is quite delicious.

Still the best because it's more than just heat, it adds acidity. If you're a decent cook you'll be using vinegar anyways. It's the best on eggs. I can add a single shake into white grits without noticeably altering the color so the heat is a surprise. Tabasco is more of a flavor enhancer than a typical hot sauce that you slather all over tacos. It's like the Lea & Perrins of spiciness.

>> No.17539765

Maybe I'll have to try it more but I maybe get the slightest hint of the peppers if that. I have a bias against it to be honest, everyone goes crazy about it but I thought it was shit when I first tried it.

i was literally the exact same way, but i just kept eating a little every day and my love for it matured quickly. it definitely has a strong vinegar taste and as the anon above said its more of a flavor enhancer than a traditional hot sauce, but i just love it so much whatever you wanna call it

You can really taste the difference, it tastes more of the oak barrels and I think they use a different vinegar? Not sure on that one, but it's definitely more flavorful than normal tobasco. You can order it online if you're interested.

Birds don't feel the capsaicin, which is why peppers evolved it in the first place. Birds are the only things in nature which eat hot peppers, and the seeds just pass right through them and get deposited somewhere new along with a shot of fertilizer. Most herbivorous mammals have teeth specialized for grinding up plant matter, which destroys the seeds, but if it burns their mouth, they leave them alone.
