I like doing rice on the stovetop when it's just me and I'm eating leftovers/some premade stuff with it.

My personal opinion.
Japanese products can be used for about 10 years if there is no problem for one year.
Chinese products are not so easy to turn on and work first of all lol
I think it's better if it works for 5 years or so.

It's just as easy as a rice cooker without having to keep a stupid device on your counter. I do not see the point

not a recipie but when I was povertylivin I would pour a can of cream of whatever soup into the rice cooker when it was done and then fry and add whatever meat I had on hand and leave it on warm for a bit. The problem with cooking anything in a rice cooker is it only stops when all the water is boiled off. It's nice to have if you eat rice a lot but for actually cooking its kinda shit.

If you eat alot of rice and don't necessarily care much about every single aspect of its quality, its definitely a kitchen staple. Not having to baby a pot of rice and focus on other aspects of food prep/cooking is great.

I do, I use /fit/, and you can cook a million other things in a rice cooker, I made a cake last night.
Why do you retards think rice cookers can only be used for one thing and are not a multi purpose device.

When are you babying the rice apart from the span of like 2 minutes if you're doing the high heat, reduce method? 90% of cooking time is letting it gently boil or steam while you go do something else.
