I buy whatever is the best price at the store but get fresh eggs gifted from friends who have chickens when they have extras. The fresh ones are definitely better but not by enough that I'm going to pay out the ass for what's commercially available when I can get 1-2 dozen for a couple bucks. I just find excuses to use the fresh ones in dishes where the eggs are front and center when I have them.
