This is one of the children's foods that I think held up the least into adulthood. I'm not a manchild but I'll admit to eating totino's pizza rolls, bagel bites, Kraft Mac and cheese, and fruit gushers on rare occasion. Maybe it's 50% nostalgia but I still do enjoy all of those foods. I had Chef Boyardee recently and it was just disgusting, I can't believe I ever ate that stuff. Slimy and mushy noodles with that weird potatolike flavor, the cafeteria mystery meatloaf balls, and the thin tart sauce that tastes like watered ketchup. Absolutely horrible.

My family has a remote cabin in the woods. It’s a 4 mile walk from the nearest road. There is a bunch of canned ravioli and spaghetti and canned baked beans. A wood stove in the middle of the cabin to heat em up and keep me nice and toasty. Loads of wood stacked up outside and a sharp ax to cut down more wood if I need it. There is a shortwave radio that runs on C batteries. I can listen to radio from all over the world. Got loads of gold coppertops to keep that radio going. Two bottles of Scotch, a cheap one (Johnny Walker Red) and a decent single malt (Auchentoshen 21 year old). A huge can of Folgers coffee and gold olde fashioned coffee pot. Lots of Coca Cola and bottled water. A 12 gauge shotgun in case I have some unwanted company. A comfortable cot with lots of blankets and pillows. I’m in the Northeast and there is supposed to be a huge snowstorm tonight. About to head out to the cabin right now. I’m going to just relax and enjoy myself. Drink a lot of scotch, eat a lot of canned pasta and beans, listen to some good olde fashioned radio. I’m looking forward to the solitude.

u can make it - 1 cup molasses, 1 cup cornmeal, 1 cup whole wheat flour, 1 cup bread flour, 2 eggs, a little salt, a little sugar if you like, some yeast, a little oil is optional

u can cook it on your stove or in the oven in a water bath if you don't have a slow cooker or pressure cooker with a rack
