Do you ever go to restaurants or bars alone? Do you think the service is better or worse?

>> No.17316865

I am physically incapable of pooping without the aid of coffee.

I love going out alone. It's nice to have no expectations put on me by anyone else. Am I tired of being here? Cool. I can just go home. It's nice.
I think the service is better over a small group since if the bar tenders get to know you over the night, they can know you're low maintenance, know what you want, and can just get your drink.
I was at a bar a couple months ago, and they were just slammed, like 2-3 deep all night. After I ordered my second dark and stormy the bar maid looked at me, mouthed another, I'd nod, and then pay cash for the drink. Then I went back outside to the smoking patio. It was nice.

when I used to take public transportation to work there was a bar right in front of one of the stops, I would stop in for a drink or three at least a couple times a week. the rail car would come every 20 minutes or so. it was comfy.

I go out alone daily. Service is essentially the same if not better. Soon enough you get special treatment if you’re low maintenance and tip reasonably well. I’ve been squeezed in both alone and with friends at nice restaurants more times than I can count.

No, I'm too shy and self-conscious. Last few times I tried I didn't enjoy it.

Absolutely, at least once a month or so. It feels good to be alone and just take in the atmosphere. The service is actually really good especially if you are polite, the bartender/waiter is usually really cool and they keep the chatter to a minimum.

most people go to the bars alone.

worse. if you can get a good banter going on with someone there then it's not bad.
i feel like they think you're some kind of reviewer if you go to a restaurant alone.
plenty of people go to bars alone though, not unusual.

Idk why everytime I look up they're looking at me. I'm pretty sure I don't have lettuce in my teeth

that does sound comfy. I'm sure there's a ton of comfiness lost in america due to public transportation being such garbage

thats sounds like a bullshit statistic. is it by the amount of time like alchies heading in at noon and staying late, or by number, where by a group of two going together already outnumber a single alchie by 2 to 1, let alone the common groups of four and even more?

yes I eat and drink every day alone.
I have a cradle and watch tv on my tablet while eating dinner every night. I'm regular at 3 places here. they know my name, my drink (makers manhattan not in a martini glass) they know my beer (racer 5 ipa) and they usually can guess what i want to eat and of course how I would like it prepared. I liken it to having servants. >feelsgoodman.jpeg
every morning for breakfast the past 11 years I go to a small shop ran by a very sweet vietnamese couple. I do day trading and have to sit for a bit. during covid they opened anyways and the son made a special table off to the side with a velcro leash curtain for safety, a sign on the table says "reserved" >feelsgoodman.jpeg

on a side note: low key want to wifey their 19yo daughter and get free breakfast everyday.

I find going to bars myself super comfy. I don't do it that often anymore but it's just a nice way to kill a couple of hours after work or when the wife is working late. Service is always good if youre not creepy.

Bars are where single and lonely people go for social interaction. sure they have groups of friends, but they are isolated to their own parts of the bar. I bar tended a several bars.

>> No.17319072

>>17319070
also most of the regulars are just bar friends.
