I wouldn't say Guinness is full-bodied and strong. It is quite watery, low ABV, easy to drink and somewhat insipid. People confuse it with being strong and say dumb shit like "mmmm it is so filling!" because the roasted dark flavor of this stout is unlike the ales and pilsners they are used to.

The worst is when people saying "one Guinness fills me up!" which makes no fucking sense because it is watery, lower ABV, lower calorie and less carbonated (nitrogenated) than other beers. It is like the Corona of stouts.

I like it but the idea that it is strong and filling is full retard.

If you've had proper stout then sure, guinness is watery in comparison, but for the average bud light drinker guinness may as well be a loaf of bread.

But it really isn't, it's just the dark/roasted taste that fools dumb people into thinking it is strong and filling. Bud Light probably has the same ABV as Guinness.

ABV isn't the measure by which people decide a beverage is filling or not

No but alcohol is an important source of calories in fermented beverages. How would you describe a drink as being filling and how would Guinness fit ?

Little Girl : Oh, that's very nice of you, thank you.
