It’s less that you can’t find it, more that it’s uncommon. In Italy, a bread shop is common and ubiquitous. In France you also get shops where all they do is butter. I just hope I can impart the idea that food in America is awful and takes a lot of effort to eat decently whereas in Italy it’s much easier.

Just give it to me all in one place. My grocery store bakes lovely bread fresh daily. I can get everything I need to cook white people food. If I want indian or asian I may have to go to a specialty store for something specific, but odds are they carry it at my grocery store.
