I've been drinking skim for a few years now (cucked into it by the gf who thinks the miniscule amount of fat she'd get from 2% is what had made her gain weight). I'll admit that going back to 2%+ feels thick. Kinda like cream tasted when I was drinking 2%.

What I've been doing is just keeping a small thing of whipping cream and mixing in a ratio that makes sense for recipes. I've given up trying to make creamy stuff (even simple shit like KD, sauces, curries, desserts, etc) without some actual fat in the milk. I just don't tell her I add the cream, simple as.

I stopped drinking 2% milk once I learned how much fat is in whole milk. Whole milk has 3.5% fat. 2% milk is barely any better. Just get the full taste of whole milk.

"Whole" milk is the least processed. Homogenized and pasteurized, which is not needed if consumed within a couple hours of collection, otherwise DO NOT DRINK "RAW" MILK.
All other milk has been literally turned into powdered milk, separated and recombined.
You can save on storage, spoilage, and money by using powdered milk if your choice is to drink 2%.
Then there is Coke's Fairlife which is so heavily processed that it can only be called a "milk product" because the product manufacturing starts with milk.

It isn't, but I've found a middle ground. I also drink enough milk that tbqhwyf, it's probably good that it's low fat. I've gotten used to it. For recipes I just add the cream to make it taste right, haven't really missed the 2%.
