Why is the cheap ghetto maple syrup better than the luxurious organic and fancy maple syrup

>> No.17214216

Because the cheap syrup is sugar water while the fancy brands are actually syrup.

The cheap syrup is just HFCS with a little bit of coloring, it's thicker and tastes really good. Real authentic maple has a bit of an aftertaste and a more complex flavor, which isn't something you always want first thing in the morning imo.

>> No.17214660

>>17214194
because its sugar syrup, not maple syrup. note that nowhere on the bottle does it say maple. which one is better is really up to personal taste.

>> No.17214662

I remember going on a school trip to a maple syrup making place (they tap trees and stuff) and it was the first time I tried maple syrup. they gave us a couple pan cakes and a thing of syrup. it was the best thing I had ever tasted

it just has the water boiled out of it, you might be able to thin it down, or find a lighter grade

if you have a lot of time on your hands and live somewhere with sugar maples you can tap one yourself, what you'll get from boiling the sap down yourself will be a lot lighter and thinner because you don't have an entire patch of them akkyy2nd huge cauldron
