1 patty if there is tomato + lettuce.
2 patties if there is cheese + bacon + condiments, no lettuce/tomato.

smash burgers are objectively the best burger, and you can put 2-3 of those suckers between buns

Yeah, you can fuck off, too. Imagine falling for the meme designed to make people actually want cheap fast food burgers. It's a scam to sell less meat in a form that cooks faster.

I agree, HOWEVER, one of those single burgers isn't adequate and two is too many calories/carbs from the extra buns. Thus, I typically just get 1 double burger. And I never get cheese. Good meat doesn't need cheese; cheese is just pointless additional calories and fat. Adds nothing.

Crinkle cut bread & butter pickles are wonderful. AS A FUCKING SIDE. NOT ON THE COCK SUCKING BURGER.
Other than that pickles are generally pretty lame, yeah.

The acidity of the pickles compliments the fattiness of the patty, much in the same way tangy condiments do. I think they definitely need to have a snap or crunch to them, though, so soggy and thick pickle slices are out. People don't seem to get this, and thus we've ended up with a lot of soggy burgers that have turned people off the notion of having pickles on their burger.
Tomatoes are the same. Rather than a gloppy snotty overripe slice of squishy tomato, I think it's best to have the tomatoes crisp enough to hold their shape and texture. You wouldn't want limp lettuce on a burger, then why settle for limp tomatoes.

The burger is a fascinating dish in that it embodies the supreme culinary fundamentals of contrasting and complimenting flavours and textures. A bad burger is a homogeneous gooey mush that all tastes the same.

Are you actually saying you enjoy soft and soggy pickles instead of crisp and crunchy pickles? Because I will find out where you live and beat the shit out of you.

I prefer wet and crunchy, which is why I specified bread and butter. I have yet to come across a SINGLE PICKLE that belongs on a burger. Wetter pickles obviously do not belong on a burg, they belong on the side if requested.
For a pickle to be dry enough but also have the crunch factor while also not being so sour it overpowers the other components of the burger........that has eluded me.
So, no pickles on my cheese burger. It ain't happening hos.

fat, pink patties are pretentious and immature. here in the UK basically every pub does these huge flabby burgers that taste of nothing but sauce and i fucking hate it, it's such a waste of beef.

> It's a scam to sell less meat in a form that cooks faster
oh yeah that's why they give you multiple patties in a smash burger, because they want to gyp you on meat, that makes sense.
