We don't have any kids yet/anymore.
We'll have one 6 month old next year but he'll be too dumb to know what any of this Christmas shit is until he's 2 and change.
Maybe we'll make one then.

you add egg white to give it structure.

1 pound confectioners' sugar, sifted, plus more as needed

1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar

1/2 cup (3 large) pasteurized egg whites, at room temperature

hopefully the royal icing works for you. otherwise, have had good luck in the past with making a hard caramel and using that to stick the pieces together. obviously you can't pipe it but a spoon should work. hold the pieces in place until it sets.

Believe me when I say I have tried caramel. Whenever I get it to the hard state it always continues to cook and burns but if I try to turn it off early it doesn't go hard.

>> No.17182325

>>17182284
do you have a thermometer? also consider that a slightly burnt caramel might still work. depending on the size of your house you aren't using all that much proportionally. it wont taste as great at the edges, but it might still be palatable. the important part is that its edible.
still, definitely try the icing first

I'm lucky the ginger bread worked lol, I'm terrible at baking, I don't have the patience for it. Will ice in a few hours
