It depends on how much you want to spend and where you shop from.
Tiri is the best artisanal Italian panettone and it’s already sold out, so, I’d go for something mid tier if you want to spend a reasonable amount of money.

From here my favourites are Fiasconaro and the Baladin Beer panettone: https://www.corso101.com/en/panettoni-513

If you want artisanal panettone you can try here: https://www.olivieri1882.com/en/collections/panettoni

My country has it's own version of Panettone called Pan de Pascua(tl: Christmas Bread). It's harder, browner, more compact, sweeter, and the spices are different. It was brought by italian and german immigrants and with time it became it's own thing. I tried Panettone once and I couldn't stand it because I was so used to Pan de Pascua which is in the end slightly different but enough to be noticeable.

There’s no comparison, surely it has a completely different texture than pandoro.
It’s virtually like a super soft bread but it’s pleasantly loaded with natural aromas and butter, it’s not even comparable to a baked leavened cake.
With that said, if you’re curious you can always try a cheap Bauducco to have an idea, then if you like them you can step your game up to better ones.

I understand and kind of agree with you, however the artisanal ones tend to have the same price range 30-40$ but the quality tends to be different.
You can find an average ‘tone priced 38€ or for the same amount of money you can have a Tiri panettone which I assure you it’s worth all the money they ask, also because as a plus you get if expressly made for you when you place the order.

Mid tier panettone are good and soft but I noticed that some of them tend to be a little bit sweeter than I like.
Also cheaper doesn’t necessarily mean lower or noticeably lower quality, there are producers like Albertengo that make good products but since they make a lot of them they can keep the price in the 20s € area.

It’s very nice, moist and soft, the top part has the salted caramel glaze and it’s not too sweet with a light hint of salt.
The texture is similar to the coffee and white chocolate because there are caramel chips in the dough, it’s rich but not heavy and it fills you.

Now I can’t wait to try the traditional one on Christmas.

Yes, it’s objectively leagues better if compared to your average panettone because it’s so soft and doughy.
The only “complaint” I have is that it lacks fruit so it’s not as intriguing as the classic one where you can find a bite with candied peels and or raisins.
The salted caramel at the top is very good.

Olivieri 1882 makes a salted caramel + semi candied apricots panettone, next year I’ll try that one.

It’s optional, but if you like you can warm your panettone before eating it either by keeping it near a radiator some time before eating it (inside his bag of course) or by placing it (without bag) 2 minutes inside an oven at 150C.
