Why is this allowed?

This seems like the type of thing that people pretend is real but isn't, but in reality, it's absolutely how it goes. Surely with all our smart devices somebody could make a toaster that can detect when bread is, well, toasted? It could be as simpler as a color-detection tool...

>>17109722
Color detection would be faulty, especially with different types of bread.
See >>17109729
This toaster uses passive HEAT detection and automatically shuts off when the bread is perfectly toasted. It’s brilliant in its simplicity.

Electric range has shit heat control. It basically relies on turning the heating element on and off periodically to control the heat.

Join the gas or induction master race

>> No.17109794

>>17109779
That’s not a range knob; it’s a toaster knob. It doesn’t control heat, only time.
And you can compensate the range’s shit heat control by using a heavy and full cast iron pan, with the material slowing down the heating up and cooling down.

Because you can toast more than thin slices of bread in the toaster. They're built to handle shit like pop tarts, toaster pastries, bagels, etc as well

It’s not minutes. That’s a retarded tumblr post. They are just numbers that correlate with time. But they aren’t linear, and the are random on the division of time they cook.

Because that’s not how it works.
Are you really so technically challenged that the operation of something with one knob is too much?

>cold and underdone

No fucking shit, welcome to applying heat to food. You have a lot to learn.
One day you might do something called baking bread, which uses an oven.
If you use a setting way too low, you’ll just end up with warm dough.
But if you set it too high, you’ll end up with burned bread.
However if you set it just right, you’ll get the result you’re hoping for.
You’ll find this same principle applies to many other cooked items, not just bread.
