This stuff has to be the hottest thing I can eat without outright stopping because of the pain. Where does your spice tolerance end?

It's the hottest instant ramen I've ever had. Anything hotter I could probably eat it, but I wouldn't enjoy it.

This shit's really good.

I usually buy the sauce by the bottle and put it on shitty 5/$1 ramen. x2 spicy isn't as good as the regular black bottle to me, it goes too far over the flavor/spicy ratio. I ate this shit multiple times a day for months until I started developing intense stomach pain that would wake me up at night even when I didn't eat this; so I stopped eating it all together. Idk if I developed a stomach ulcer or what.

This shit hurts to eat but I can at least finish it. Taste is actually pretty alright, just can't taste much of it over the spice. I tried it once as is, but then I tried adding cheese, heavy cream, and a scrambled egg to the noodles (it cooks the egg) and it actually makes it palatable.

laos style green papaya salad to the point where a modest forkful has a couple thai chilis pulverized into it. I need raw cabbage and ice water though. flavor is amazing though
>>17064182
this shit is absolutely amazing though (1x, 2x, and pink... mostly 2x). especially if you add a fried egg with lots of yolk, thin slice onion, a thin cut chinese sausage, and an excessive amount of furikake (mishima green label). I have eaten this every other day for 3 years for breakfast/lunch/midnight and I swear this combination is peak packet noodles.

I can easily eat anything 'hot' that isn't 'the whole point of it is to be so hot as to be inedible'. I don't see the point of that shit. Pepper-spraying perfectly good food and then painfully forcing it down your gullet doesn't make you a tough guy.

A question to Americans: how true is the stereotype of white Americans being unable to handle spicy food/preferring bland food? Is it just a black twitter thing?

I've lived in China and they all seemed to think that anything containing trace amounts of chillies would be lethal to me (they all assumed I'm American). I always had to insist that they make the food proper hot and they would always be awestruck by the laowei that eats hotter stuff than they do with ease. Condescending chinks.

Yes.

Most americans are fine with spicy food that isn't *stupidly* spicy. Suburban Karens are a notable exception. Seen one cussing out a dish because caraway was too spicy for her.

Some white guys i know have eaten insane spice and been fine while black guys i know either pretend to be hard by using those chinese take away hot sauces which are super mild or just straight up don't even bother with heat. Blacks assume all white cooking is KFC and bologna sandwiches. In reality they hoot n holler over anything hotter than Frank's.

>> No.17069271

I grow a lot of pepper varieties including super hots and basically there is no limit to the tolerance. I usually try a pepper off each plant to get an idea of what is going on with it and I make a pepper/salt mash with the collected harvest of each harvest which I'll try a spoon of before making sauces etc. All super hots are generally equally brutal without being identical. Generally I'm in for a bad time for about 10 minutes, hopping around, groaning, having my nose and eyes running, but like everything it all must come to an end and everything passes in time. I've never fucked with extract or anything based on extract because I've no interest or need. In all honesty I don't care about heat for the sake of heat or enduring a burn or anything really other than what that pepper tastes like and how best to utilise it. I just categorise them according to heat (so I know how much to use in a sauce) and try to work out what flavour profile they have to work out what will combine with them. Most of my hot sauces use about 9% habenero type and 3% scorpion type which is about pretty hot to hot to me. This is the point where you can freely eat it in small amounts, but if you have too much too quickly you'll get in trouble and need to take a minute. On a scale of 1 to 10 where 1 is a supermarket scotch bonnet/jamacian pepper sauce I'm at about a 4, maybe 35-40 times as hot as scotch bonnet sauces.
